FS300 {11/4/12} Happy 300th Birthday! Jen Mitchell {aka jenmitchell} Featured Stamper
What a wonderful gallery just loaded with the most fabulous creations!
I used this lovely card of JenÂ’s as my inspiration for todayÂ’s CAS and TLC challenges: Simple Sunflower by jenmitchell at Splitcoaststampers
The pinterest inspiration photo reminded me that mums are fall flowers. The colors in the photo allowed for the use of red, yellow and green. I used three different punches for the flower that I punched out in yellow and then used a water brush dipped in SU Raspberry Ripple to color the petals. I added a Sizzix tattered leaf. The center is a 1/4” strip of green card stock, snipped and quilled. I used a Sizzix scallop die and layered the positive and negative cuts in the border.
I like the idea of no sentiment because it would take away from the focal point and the flecks in the handmade paper scalloped border.

Angela, your mum is GORGEOUS! I love how you added the Raspberry Ripple to the yellow - beautiful! The quilled center is the perfect finish. Great hand-made paper ... love the double scallop

Stunning! Clever combination of the challenges. The confetti paper on the bottom panel looks like the falling leaves from the CAS challenge photo. a bit. tfs
