When I awoke this morning the sky had a most interesting pattern because of storm Sandy. The clouds were long and horizontally linear with touches of gray. The barren trees with an occasional leaf or two were especially peaceful and very beautiful. SCS has some crafters that really know how to capture sky scenes with masking and sponging. I wished that they could have created this for me.
The background was sponged with tumbled glass and Memento London fog. I masked off sections to achieve the clouds with strips of torn paper. I used a CraftersWorkshop “Mini Birds of a Feather” template to sponge image using distress inks forest moss, wild honey and fired brick.
Thank you for looking!

What a beautiful sky, Angela, I love the effect of torn paper...I'm glad you're okay, I hope you didn't suffer too much damage during the storm, though I know it's been devastating all over...

So BEAUTIFUL Angela! Love your amazing watercoloring!!! The pretty branches reaching out against the soft linear clouds of your fantastic sky...it is all gorgeous!!! The Verve sentiment is wonderful too!
Oh Angela, You don't need anyone to create a sky for you because you have, obviously, mastered that technique. This card is so lovely and peaceful...just what we all need after the storm.
