This was a card full of happy accidents and adventures, and I thrilled with the way it turned out!
I started with a blank ivory Recollections card, and covered the front with paper from a Colorbök "Thinking of You" Accent Paper Pack.
The flower patterned piece is just a piece of acrylic paper stamped randomly with a small flower from the Hampton Art Flip Flops Birds & Branches set with Color Box Cat's Eyes ink in Plum Berry and a dark purple Studio G ink.
The "Hello" stamp is also from Studio G and was stamped in the same dark purple. I then used a black gel pen to outline the shape and the letters somewhat haphazardly.
The owl is also from the Birds & Branches set and was colored with watercolor pencils.
The "hoot" banner is a piece of acrylic paper that I colored using the DTP method and the Color Box Plum Berrry ink. The "hoots" are all handwritten.
My favorite part is the scallop at the top. I noticed belatedly that I had cut my background paper just a bit too small, and with the card folded, there was a bit of the ivory beneath visible at the top. It wasn't much, but it was enough to bug me, so I set about finding a way to cover it up. Adding another bit of paper seemed easiest, so I chose this striped piece and decided, on a whim to cut scallops along the edge. Then I decided to adhere it to the front with pop dots rather than simply gluing it down. I think this is a technique I'll be using more in the future!
