Today's HYCCT challenge is to be inspired by vital signs: heartbeat/pulse, temperature, blood pressure or respirations. I chose to focus on breathing. I love the line in Sleepless in Seattle where the dad/Tom Hanks is talking about grieving for his wife "Well, I'm gonna get out of bed every morning... breathe in and out all day long. Then, after a while I won't have to remind myself to get out of bed every morning and breathe in and out... and, then after a while, I won't have to think about how I had it great and perfect for a while."
I know when I'm in the midst of crisis I have to stop and remember to just breathe!
Do you ever have a stamp set that you've not used in a while just catch your imagination and take over for a while? I've been really inspired by my French Flair set. I wanted to use today's ways to use it challenge to use crayons and thought I could make use of the crayon resist technique with this set. I inked with Not Quite Navy and used a baby wipe to omit the birds and taking a marker to make sure the areas near where I'd wiped off the birds still had ink. I stamped onto glossy cardstock and used my embossing gun to set the ink. I then took my white crayon and went over the lines and also wrote the word "breathe" I then took my brayer with Tempting Turquoise and went over the whole surface. I then went back and used a tissue to remove the white crayon. I added some silver chipboard accents and layered onto Not Quite Navy cardstock with white inside with a bit more of the French Flair swirls in the same ink.
