This is my 6x6 page for today's Hymn & Scripture Challenge. Our word and study this week are on the hymn " Oh for a Thousand Tongues to Sing." The scripture I used was:
Psalm 35:28 " My tongue will speak of Your righteousness and of Your praises all day long."
I thought this verse was so perfect for the hymn and a reminder for myself. I also used two of Tim Holtz's embellishments that worked great for this page--the alpha card with the number 1 reminding me that He should always be first in my life, and then I used the tiny chit chat stickers to create the phrase "all about Him." It is another reminder for me to remember daily that it's all about Him not me! To see more photos and to read the entire study, please see my post here:

I immedately started singing this wonderful, old hymn in my head when I saw your card--how wonderful is that! Those great, old hymns have such strong messages, and it saddens me that this generation won't know them like I did, as they are rarely sung in many churches now. So when I'm in a service where they are, my heart soars! Not that I don't love many of the newer worship songs, because I do, and those bless me too. Just hate though not to have some of these too. Stepping down off my band-wagon...!
I've been wanting to take pages from an old hymnbook that a dear friend mailed to me for this very purpose, and you've inspired me to get started! Can you imagine the pleasure this would give to an elderly christian to receive a card made with one of their favorite hymns?! Let alone how lifted that person would be to know that someone thought enough of them to go to that trouble to make a handmade card!
Love your distressing, and how you've combined it with your own hand-written thoughts. Just lovely! Thank you for inspiring me and undoubtedly so many others to create our own projects with the treasures of an old hymnbook. I'm hoping to acquire a few more to have while I can get them...
Thank you for touching my heart with some wonderful memories,
