Some of you may remember that was DH was severely injured during those freak storms that hit the east coast over the summer? He's recovering well and we have been so blessed, but sometimes, just sometimes, the days are hard. There are doctor appts, and physical therapy, and MRIs, and setbacks, and everyday life to keep under control. Those are the days and weeks that cause you to forget what a miracle it is that DH is even alive. Make you forget that every day, no matter how hard, is a miracle because DH is here and he's eventually going to be just fine.
I guess this past week was one of those weeks. But just this afternoon I watched DH do some electrical work relacing a light switch in our home. I know that may seem like no big deal, but for us? It's HUGE. He could grip the screwdriver and had the strength to turn the screws---not to mention even the act of manipulating the stairs with his cane (not his wheelchair or his walker, but his CANE---whoohoo!) brought tears to my eyes and reminded of how far we've come in 3 months.
And that reminded me the we really, absolutely without even a sliver of doubt Believe in Miracles That's waht my card says on the inside. As soon as I saw the pillow I knew what I wanted to do. Life is a Miracle beyond Price. Thank you so much to all of you who prayed for us---you humble us.
Okay. Enough of the sappy stuff For the card: the wire is recycled from wired ribbon. I just coiled it up and let it have its head. I used glue dots to adhere the gems even though they're self-adhesive that way the glue dots hold the wire in place. The sentiment is partially inked and the rest reads 'in Miracles' and is stamped on the inside.
Thanks for looking and 'listening.'

This is so creative and a great card. I almost used the same inspiration because I had a digi bird nest and eggs but wanted a Christmas card.
I love how you made your nest and eggs.
I didn't know about your husband but I am so happy he is doing better...so much to be thankful for.

I didnt know about your husband, but I do now. I'm so glad you had time to craft an incredibly creative and CAS card. I think it's great. Your story is equally great. Yes, life can be difficult, but it's in those difficult times that we have to stand back and take the miracles that happen around us every day, even in the smallest of things. I'm delighted to hear he's quickly moving toward full recovery.

What a wonderful story to share - so glad your DH is improving - I think we all tend to take our health for granted until something goes wrong - I love your inspired card - that nest and the 'eggs' are so creative!

Wow, what a beautiful story. It gave me goosebumps and tears. I feel for you and your DH, and your family - and I too, positively without a doubt believe in Miragles as well. Thank you for sharing today - and congratulations on coming so far in three months. Hugs!
Oh - yeah - your card is AMAZING too. The simplicity of it speaks volumes. Love it!
