It is always difficult for me to think about and describe my style of stamping, but that's what Lydia challenged us to do in the first Hope You Can Cling To Challenge.
First, I'd say that I love Neutrals and Naturals-you'll see a lot of earth tones and woodgrains, hemp, natural items and images. Second, I'm pretty CAS for the most part... not too many layers or embellishments. Third-I love the texture of embossing folders. Fourth-A vintage feel. Fifth-layered stamping and sponging Sixth-I'm a thrifty girl, so I like to repurpose items and incorporate them into my cards.
So, I started with one of my favorite Neutrals....Soft Suede for the base and Natural White for the image panels. I stamped first in Going Grey with the Weathered bg. I then stamped French Foliage script in Basic Grey. My Poppies (one of my fave new sets!) were stamped in Versafine Onyx then colored with markers. I added black gel pen highlights. I embossed another piece of Natural White in the Rebecca ef then cut out an oval. I sponged this piece with Soft Suede. I had masked my oval around the poppies and sponged with Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede. My final addition is the chunky twine bow....I had purchased bubbles for my DD's wedding and they each (~70 of them!) had twine tied on them. My youngest DD had the task of untying all of them and I popped the pieces of twine into a bag and I've been enjoying using them on my cards. It would complete my style to have a Scripture verse for encouragement, but since this is going to MD Anderson I left it off.
Not quite sure I could come up with a one-word description of my style, but this card definitely reflects it whatever you call it

Another beauty, Gail!! You may have been a couple of days late getting started but you're really on a roll. Both the image and the framing are so gorgeous. I just LOVE poppies .

Gail this is drop dead gorgeous. YOur poppies are so vibrant and just grab your attention immediately. Love too how you framed them with that emboss folder.
