I kept the basic design of Vicki's card. I chose a different sentiment (from the same set she used), chalked in purples instead of blues, chose a different image, and used only two layers instead of three on my card.
I started by sponging several hues of purple and lavender chalks on a panel of white card stock. I stamped my image in White Craft Ink, then covered the ink in white embossing powder and Glassy Glaze embossing powder. I heat embossed the image, then stamped "Happy Birthday" in Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink. I adhered this panel to an Elegant Eggplant card base. In the picture the card base almost looks black, but in reality it's a very deep and rich purple.

This was a fun card to CASE. I love how versatile it is for a variety of colors, images and sentiments. Thanks for the inspiration, Vicki!

Oh my goodness, you stayed up that late and then had to deal with a huge spider!!! That really adds to how special I think this card is.... I am glad your husband could come to your rescue, I also despise spiders and somewhat a little fearful of them also.
Great chalking on this one.... and even though you used a different technique from mine, it worked beautifully...I love the end results of the emboss resist technique. The colors that you have used and blended so well really pops your image. Thanks so much for sharing, and for making this so special for me. I really do appreciate you and your beautiful work... Happy Stamping....
