Hi friends. Here is my next project for the October Creative Crew Challenge! We sure do hope that you join us too.
Our theme this month is stepping it up with various challenges. This is a Holiday Focus challenge where we are to use products out of the Holiday Catalog choosing Halloween, Thanksgiving or fall. I've made a fall card already so I thought that I would focus on Halloween this time around.
Both cards have a Whisper White card stock base that is A2 tent with a second layer cut at 4 x 5-1/4. The edges were distressed with a blade and I ink distressed them with Basic Gray and a sponge dauber. Stampin' Dimensionals were applied to the back of the second layer and adhered to the base of the card. Googlies were also applied to the feline image.
Both cards are actually very easy to make and very colorful, and gives you the chance for some free drawing, aka scribbling.
You can also use watercolor paper, give it a squirt or two of water, and see where the ink goes, which would also add some great texture.
Here is what I made for you and I hope that you
CLEAN & SIMPLE
The Frightening Feline stamp was direct color to marker using Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango. Clear embossing powder was applied over the stamped image and heat embossed. I then added a few strips of Halloween-themed Washi tape at the bottom right of the card.
STEPPED UP
I first colored back and forth on the second layer four colors of Stampin' Write Makers starting with Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango. The Frightening Feline image was stamped onto the image panel with Versamark ink and black glitter powder was sprinkled over the image and heat embossed. I stamped a hat image from Googly Ghouls onto Whisper White card stock with Tangerine Tango ink and fussy cut the hat out. I adhered it to the top of the cat's head with Mini Glue Dots and placed a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the center of the hat. I wrapped some black twine around the bottom of the card a few times and secured it to the back. I tied a "cheater's bow" in the center of the twine and slipped a Mini Glue Dot under the bow to keep it in place.
Please be sure to check out what the rest of the Creative Crew made for you! There's lots of inspiration and ideas for your classes and workshops.
