You know how you get a card in your head and when you make it, it doesn't look anything like the one in your head? Well.. THIS is that card. As I was looking at the picture on my screen I realized several things.
#1. The leaves are way to small, I should have used at LEAST one size bigger if not more.
#2. The branch is coming from inside the window (that IS blue sky in the background) and now the leaves are falling inside the house! How funny is that???
#3. I should never try to case such an awesome card as the one I picked!!!
Because I worked so blessed hard to glue those little leaves on those branches... I am posting this...mostly to give you all a good laugh!
It was made with much love to honor Loll, and I feel bad that it just didn't turn out as expected. It was a beauty in my head... :-)
Here is the card that inspired this one...I have the bird, window, leaves but no birdcage!
Memory Box Woodland Branch and Memory Box Twigs and Berries
Spellbinder Label Two, cut (using two size dies) in Crumb Cake to make a frame for the outside and in White to stabilize and cover the branches on the inside
Distress ink Tumbled Glass swirled behind bird for sky.
Punch bunch small Maple leaf
I used Tim Holtz Distree Inks: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Pint and Walnut swirled on some watercolor paper and then punched my leaves out of the various parts of the paper.
My bird is an Impression Obsession Little Chickadee stamp and matching die colored with SU markers and a blender pen
My FAll sentiment is unknown as the packaging from this clear stamp set is long gone :-) I also used Tim Hotlz Distress inks Rusty Hinge, Mustard Seed and Peeled Paint to stamp it in.

Why, oh why are we soooo hard on ourselves. Your card is absolutely lovely with that adorable little bird on the branch in that neat frame. Hey this is the stamp world we can create any scene we want - only restrictions are the ones we put on ourselves. I can relate to the 'have an idea in your head' and having it come out totally different.....this card was meant to be, and it is lovely.

Well I think your card is awesome and in card town (Jammer Town) these miracles of nature happen all the time..trust me. And if you have a leaf problem in the house, you might want to visit Blooms in a Box's gallery and read about her Faux cleaning tips for the Jammer Crafter...truly valuable information! LOL! Seriously, this is one beautiful card and you should be proud!

Thanks so much to you all for the kind words about this card. You can't tell but the window is open...the blue sky is on the inside of the card. I could not find a way to photograph it so that its openess showed! :-)
Leaf blowers probably work in the house too...right?

Peggy ... I love this card! I like that the branch starts on the outside and then comes inside. It's funny, because I didn't even think of it that way ... I just loved that it sticks out past the card front which adds so much interest. I actually really like the size of the leaves too. The great thing with small leaves is that you can have lots of them and it still makes the card look light and airy (and CAS!). Beautiful job. I love it! Whomever receives it is going to love it!
