My original muse came for this idea because my sister worked for the postal service. The other inspiration was that, with my family being so remote, a large part of how I communicate with people is via cards going through the postal system.
I've been collecting all things postal for a long time: cancelled stamps, postoid stamps, postcard stamps, postcards, stencils -- you name it. This cancelled rose postage stamp called to me as a holiday image because that is the theme I use to decorate my family room. I have garland and roses on my mantel all december, and all throughout the house. The front door holds a wreath with roses, waiting to greet loved ones.
Thanks for taking a closer peek! And thanks to those great gals, Lauren and Stef, for the chance to participate!
I hope you're inspired to play along with this theme. I can't wait to admire all your lovely creations!!

i'm thinking the xmas card makers of the world are going to really have to "get their game on" in a biiiiiiig way if they want to create a postal masterpiece that approaches this one! i loooooooooooooove that gorgeous fabric background, and the rose theme, and that luscsious lace; it astonishes me that your entire beautiful card could be inspired by-- and have as focal point-- a postage stamp that's less than an inch square, but what a stamp it is, and what a talent you have!
thank you sooooo very much for the suggestion, for your lovely card, AND for making my blog-job so incredibly easy; what a pleasure to have you on the team with us this fortnight! ♥♥♥

Vintage at its best! I love your post office inspiration as the basis for yourcreation. I love all the detail. I used to live in Roseville and found myself in Rocklin many many times. It was just down the road for me.
