For the Creative Crew Challenges for September 2012.
Since the overall tune this month is Sewing I wanted to really use it! I pulled out my sewing machine and went to town.
The flower is actually a pin or hairbow. Created the petals with the Circles #2 die and the Spice Cake Fabric. I folded each circle in half and sewed it. Then I layered the crochet trim, handstitching it together with the Button.
The button is a Brushed Bronze Button, with a Vintage Faceted Button stitched together (and through the ribbons and petal layers. The button turned out nicely!
Took a cut circle of felt and hot glued to back of flower, with strips of the layer ribbon in between. The ribbon ends were sealed with Crystal Effects to avoid fray. Pins were added to the felt circle to use as anointed (it could be converted to a hair bow easily).
I stitched the dsp layer to the card base to attach, as you can see with all the zig zag stitches. It really adds to that homemade feel!
I poked a couple holes in the center of the card and ran hemp through to be able to temporarily attach the hairbow.

Beautiful pin. I think your daughter may be the recipient of this hair bow! The colors work beautifully together and your ribbons are perfect for this creation.
Thank you for sharing.

Great presentation for the gift - and excellent challenge entry - agree, would look very pretty in your daughter's hair!
