This is for two challenges and I am late for both!
First Irishgreensue gave us a challenge to make a card that had something to do with childhood memories and to tell a story about it.
Well as a young teenager I spent a lot of time in West Palm Beach with my Grandma. She had a boyfriend who was the captain of a yacht owned by Armand Hammer ( the baking soda guy ). They had a French chef who had a seal as a pet. We went all up and down the coast of Fla in the ocean and the Intercostal waterway. We would drop the anchor and the seal and I would go swimming. It was a blast. Then I would climb back up the ladder to get on the boat and so would the seal. It was the funniest thing to watch. I did not know what a wonderful experience these years would be. I got to go all around the Caribbean and spent a lot of time in Miami off and on. I wish I could do it all over again as a child with my Grandma.
The second challenge was the Technique challenge which was to make a card using no stamps. This paper is old. I don't know what company made it but I have used some in the past and hoarded a couple of pieces. My c/s is SU Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. I used the Romantic Rectangles from SB which I love.
Thanks for both challenges.

I love the uniqueness of both this card and the wonderful childhood memory that inspired it. The colors that you have brought together here are just magical and this card is simply amazing!

WOW - love your story....isn't it amazing how in our younger years we just enjoy life as it comes. Sounds like you had a pretty neat grandma, I can tell you my summers in Indiana with my Grandmother were not nearly as exotic sounding as yours - LOL - but they were still fun. Love your card, this dies was on my list of 'to get' (that darned Blooms uses them so well she inspired me) and today I took my sweet little ole HL coupon and finally broke down and bought them.....now you have inspired me to use them as well. Lovely story, lovely card.....you are for sure feeling better it shows!! Hugs.
