Sample card for project at upcoming upline meeting, CASED from a beautiful card by Ellen H. I am demonstrating how to make hot glue medallions. I decided to demonstrate this using one of the March 'Wheel Deal' specials. Larger white CS is fully crimped; remaining white CS around the butterfly was 'daubed' with a green stampin pastel.
For hot-glue medallions you will need: Hot glue gun, Sticks of colored hot glue, Versamark ink, Rubber Stamp, Non-stick heat-safe work surface (silicon pad, Teflon mat, or similar), Pearl-Ex (optional), Heat gun (optional).
To make hot glue medallions:
1. Use Versamark to ink-up rubber stamp then set it aside (Versamark enables rubber stamp release from cooled hot glue); 2) make a puddle of hot glue on the non-stick work-surface that is proportionate in size to the rubber stamp; 3) immediately ‘set’ inked stamp into puddle of STILL hot (soft) glue, gently ‘level’ if needed (avoid pressing stamp into the glue… you will press ‘through’ the glue, LIGHT pressure may be applied if necessary to get entire stamping surface into the glue puddle); 4) did your hot glue cool too soon? Not to worry! Use that heat gun on the cooled glue puddle to reheat/liquify; 5) allow glue to cool fully then remove stamp; 6) optional: Rub Pearl-Ex on released hot-glue medallions; 7) optional: pre-squirt glue-puddles for workshops then reheat/liquefy with a heat gun; last comment: In my experience glue dots have been the best and most effective adhesive for hot glue medallions.
