For the August Christmas Card Challenge, the Ways to Use It challenge ("Dust It Off" - use something in your craft area that has dust on it), and the Free for All challenge ("Two-Steppin'" - use a two-step stamp set where you layer one stamp on top of the other).
I love SU's old Solemn Stillness set but haven't used it in a few years. I stamped the base tree in light and dark green and then did the "two-step" just on the dark green tree - the second step stamp is a beautiful swirl with stars that looks like tinsel so I stamped it in gold and heat embossed it to make it really stand out. I added the simple sentiment "joy" in the bottom corner in the same heat-embossed gold. Then popped the image panel up on gold and green borders, and then on a white cardbase.
I think I'll do a couple more while I've got the stamps and ink out as I really need to get working on Christmas cards!

Isn't it amazing how that 1 holiday seems to creep up on us so quickly every year? I started my Christmas cards last month and it surely is a whole lot less stressful. This is a pretty Christmas set, and I like your use of the gold ep; it really dresses up the card nicely!

Love card, Susan. We both thought of the same SU set. : ) I like how you used various greens as your under stamping and came back with the gold heat embossing on just one.

Susan this is very pretty. I love how you stamped off to the right and left.
