This week is "Tickle a Teapotter" week! Yippee, hooray!! Sabrina, aka cook22, is hosting this week and has given up the challenge to be about the weather.
While there are so many across the US that are suffering the consequences of drought, I want to add a little sunshine into our lives without the heat, by bringing happy sunflowers to the tea party. Have you ever noticed how their sunny faces follow the sun? We have fields of these cheery flowers in our northern central valley, mixed in with the rice fields. It makes the drive along Interstate 5 a little more pleasant.
I don't have any good ocean stamps, but I can send you all the link to the webcam I use to see if the fog is going to come in and cool us down. This is also just south of where Mutnik's DD goes with her horse Nobie. And, if any of you have seen Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, this is partly where it was filmed (just over the hill). http://bml.ucdavis.edu/about/webcams/
So those of you in land locked states, here's the Pacific Ocean.

Sunflowers are always happy-making. The Botanic Gardens here have a sunflower maze, but we don't really have fields of them. I've seen fields in France, though, and love the sight. I'll follow up your link tomorrow - been years since I've seen The Birds.

Love sunflowers--esp. when you see them in morning facing one direction then in afternoon they twist their heads around to get the sun in a different direction----really cute- so was all the info.

Funny, I was sitting on the deck this afternoon looking at my wild sunflowers and thinking about the difference in the leaves. The large sunflowers have really big leaves. And maybe it would be nice to have one or two in front of the guest bedroom window during the summer to cool that room down. Neat card!
