This week they Queen is YellowRose46, Ina! Ina has a lovely gallery and is extremelytalented when it comes to brayering! I saw several gorgeous brayered cards and ended up selecting this card: Minnesota's attention by yellowrose46 at Splitcoaststampers
I finally purchased a brayer. I have seen so many wonderful cards with the technique and was so excited to try it. OOPS!!! I think I need more practice!!! This looks like I misted it!?! (Sigh)
Ina's card has a perfrectly blended orange sky with lovely little flowers silhouetted.
I wanted to try an evening sky that was red, white and blue. My red ink had too much pink undertones so I used a yellow with it. I am guessing I did not use enough ink. Then I did the top with the blue ink.
The wheat was heat embossed with black embossing powder. I used the black mat and popped it up on dimensionals, the same as Ina. I decided on a different sentiment too.
Even though my technique is lacking, I am happy with this card. It seems a little patriotic with the red, white and blue and the grain. : )
Ina, please do more of your wonderful brayering!!! It was a pleasure to go thru your gallery!!!

I love your patriotic wheat card, Kathleen!! Though your brayering isn't as smooth as it should be, it looks as if you planned it to be this way! Maybe you started something new!

I think your brayering looks lovely. I actually like the softer, misted look. Keep at it, and if you want some tips feel free to message. I am sure Ina will love this!

Your card really pops out in the gallery with its gorgeous brayered background. I think it looks great! I've had a brayer for years and stil need to get the hang of it.

Kathleen, your card turned out GREAT! I love that beautiful background. I'm no good with the brayer and need some lessons. Actually, I've only tried it once or twice.

LOL at your brayering explanation. Yes! It does look patriotic!! I was instantly reminded of the line from America the Beautiful - "amber waves of grain." Beautiful card!!
