I didn't think I'd get to make a card today - especially with jury service - but I'm not at all averse to visiting the beach again this week (even if only on my cards) and it was a good opportunity to use a Jolee's sticker my half-sister had in her birthday gift to me.
This reminds me of one of our Greek holidays; it was a little seaside resort in Crete, and there were some fabulous restaurants all along the seafront. BUT, it was incredibly windy for all the first week we were there (I've never seen a lifeguard work so hard!), and my hopes of a romantic dinner at one of the tables on the sea side of the road had to go on hold till the weather improved. But when it did - we had a fabulous sunset . They happen so much faster there than they do here.
OK - A2 white base. Watercolour paper, sand is sponged with Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen. Sea is Tumbled Glass. The surf along the shoreline is clear microbeads, one of my favourite uses for them. The sun is Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick.
With a bit of trepidation in case the water seeped under the mask, I wet the background and used distress inks in a watercolour wash - Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar. Phew - the sun didn't run.
Pink Cat Studio sentiment, Jolee's sticker.
