This card was so much fun to make! It was a Bon Voyage card for some dear friends who were going to Maui and this was my attempt to send them a bit of the aloha spirit to get them in the groove.
The sand under the hammock is real sand that I recovered/ recycled from the bottom of a suitcase after one of our trips; ditto for the little shell that is on the Aloha panel. The sand was glued onto the card with Tombo Mono Multi glue and the shell with a rolled up craft adhesive dot.
The hammock image was stamped and then die cut. Before removing the image from the die, I colored the tree using Copic Markers and sponged the area surrounding the tree with pink, blue and green ink. The sand was glued down using a thin wavy line of Tombo glue -- I discovered a little glue holds a lot of sand!
Thanks for swinging by and taking a look at my hammock on the beach. Aloha!
