Today lovely Mary gave us the colors very vanilla, cherry cobbler and gumball green for the color challenge. The dessert option is Christmas in July.
Now you might not know it, but this whole strawberry patch is paper pieced. I made three copies of the stamp. The first stamp is in the back. I colored the second set with copic markers and cut out all the pieces. Then I adhered each piece to black cardstock. Then I trimmed the black cardstock on each piece so it would fit onto the base layer. They look raised, but there are no dimensionals. All this fussy cutting took some time! When everything was in place, I trimmed the base and distress inked the edges. I made a red mat and put it together. Whew! Long day!!! But I really like how it turned out! Now you may be asking yourself, what happened to the third copy? It is in the trash! LOL It is easy to make a bad cut on those tiny areas, so it is very good to have backup!!!
Thanks Mary for some beautiful colors!!! Thank you for stopping by to take a peek!!!

Your card is so pretty!! Wonderful coloring, and I love the sponging in the corners. I was playing around with the possibility of paper piecing today also. I think it's a fun technique. Lovely card Kathleen!!

I couldn't help but laugh as I was reading this! I think we all know what it's like to throw away pieces that just don't turn out the way we want them to. You know, been there, done that.....As for your card, wowzers, what a beauty! I'm sure that someone very special will receive this time consuming creation of yours! I LOVE the black "matting" and your cutting is amazing! Beautiful card, and now I know where you were all this time......~Hugs
