Oh, Cindy! He's beautiful! But just a bit out of place. I can understand those young'ns who wandered down into town, but this venerable patriarch? He should know better!

Such a cool picture...thanks for sharing this and the back story. I hope that the rain that fell this weekend helped the firefighters contain the fires. Hugz.

Cindy, when my daughter lived outside of Aspen they had just built a new home on the edge of Aspen Glen golf course where elk had been used to gathering. It was Christmas morning, very early my daughter had gotten up to feed her baby and outside of the house eating the shrubs and poking their noses on the windows were about 30 elks just like this one. She quietly woke up the whole house full of guests and we all creeped around in the dark peeking out of the windows in wonderment at this miracle!! We had a hunter or two in the house and they could not believe their luck that his incredible thing had happened on a snowy, frosty Christmas morning. No one who was there will ever forget that day. The elk stayed around most of the day although they moved away from the home quite a bit!! Just amazing.... Not only that this property behind her was an Bald Eagle retreat. They had a pair of bald eagles living in an old tree on the property between them and Roaring Fork River! What an amazing place!! Mount Sopris was the view from the front and a gorgeous group of redrock mountains were out the back of this home!!

Wowzers Mudder, is this guy stuffed? hehe What a find in your nieces backyard. Funny thing, DD lives close to the river, she came home the other day and there was a deer halfway in her house! Guess someone left the door ajar! Fortunately he didn't go all the way in. Wish she would have snapped his picture before he took off. hehe Love your photo. Off to see your card. TFS :0) UGIG
