DD Central Theme for July is a song from the Opera "Porgy and Bess" SUMMERTIME - written by George Gershwin
CT0712 - DaddyÂ’s Rich
My Father was in no way rich, but you would think so on Sundays. He was quite good looking, dapper, a pretty good singer, a deacon in the church and well respected. He was charitable and everyone loved him.
Summers were the best because every year the church members would travel to Myrtle Beach for the day. My father would make a shed for the truck and load it with blankets and pillows for the 4 or 5 of us to sleep during the three-hour trip. We would leave before daybreak to take advantage of all the daylight hours at the beach. When we got there he would go into the ocean and float for hours and have a little something to eat before it was time to leave at dusk. The ride on the back of the truck was my favorite part.
I’m pretty literal when it comes to challenges. Robert Jackson’s digital images remind me of Gershwin’s opera “Porgy and Bess”.

OmGoodness Angela - what a beautiful story about your Dad. This is such a wonderful way to celebrate him and those fun trips you and your family took - and I must say you've created this gent to be quite dapper himself . Love this one!!

Angela, your card drew me in-so classically gorgeous (in a manly way, of course), but your memories are so precious, I could hug your dad, and you!!!! Wonderful work! Hugs....

Another great card and I can see why this one is your favorite! We all tend to be "Daddy's little girl" no matter how old we are and you have so graciously shared another memory of your parents that is so precious! Thanks for the sharing of the memory as well as this beautiful card!
