The irony of this very clean and simple card is that it took me over an hour and a half to make. Someone told me once that I could complicate a glass of water, and in fact that happened here.
On that note, I will share that this was originally inspired by a gallery entry from this weeks' Queen For the Day. Trust me that her inspiration card here, morphed into my card here (after many many many variations). I'm claiming credit because I really did try SO many variations of that simple and beautiful card.

Oh, I know those CAS cards that take ten times longer than a more fancy one!! There's no margin for error in them.
This is lovely - I like the woodgrain background filling the entire base layer.
(Ribbons are the only thing my DH really, really doesn't like ).

Lela, a lovely card to honor our Queen this week!! Love that CAS design. I do know that I have spent a very long time on simple cards also. But you can make another just like it and that will go very quickly. It is all that thinking and planning that can take so long.

Awesome card... the monochromatic tones are very striking! I love your take on the inspiration pieces, and had to laugh at your description of how you get to CAS. I totally get how it can take hours to achieve that "effortless" look.

This is a wonderful CAS card!! I'm right there in the belief that a CAS card can take a long time! I love the sentiment and acorn that you have used against the wood bg!
