For today's Try a new Technique, Joan challenged us to "Let the Sunburst Shine!" Now, I have always thought sunburst look so cool, but I was afraid to try it. Why? Because I am one of those people who gets a crooked line from a straight edge! LOL But, because Joan asked so nicely, I gave it a go.
I used a lighthouse stamp because it already had lines of light rays. HA! That's what I get for trying to cheat! The lines are so close together at some spots, I thought I was seeing double! (Note to self, use BIG lines when cheating lol) Okay, it wasn't THAT bad : )
First I stamped my image. Then I started cutting the different colors ( I started last night!) Then I stamped another image and cut out the clouds and put them in place. Lastly I added three little birdies in the sky. On the stamp there is four, so I guess one got lost.
Thanks Joan, I know I never would have tried this on my own. And thank you for stopping by to take a peek!

Great looking card! I too am afraid to make a sunburst cloud! Like you, my straight lines come out slightly crooked at the best of times. This is just PERFECT and the lighthouse is such an inspired centre piece. Great going, Kathleen!

Very cool, Kathleen!! I love the rays coming from the lighthouse! I love your cheating and how it got the best of you too!! But your prevailed over all and won with this great lighthouse guiding the way!
I'm right there next to you in the getting it straight department, it's not in my persona, the harder I try, the worse it gets!
