Some of you have commented on my recent extended absence from posting on SCS. First of all, thank you for your sweet comments and pm's. Honestly, I was surprised that anyone noticed because I am still fairly new to SCS and let's face it....this is a HUGE site, but none the less, you did notice which is really a testimony to the fellowship here. You girls are the best anywhere. My card making hiatus had to do with my mom. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in March. It goes without saying that this was a shock for all of us. Going to MD appointments and the endless round of tests, etc. has consumed a lot of our time and energy. I won't say that I did not have any opportunities to make cards, but my heart just wasn't in it. Watching mom go through all of this literally broke my heart but she handled all of it with a quiet strength and grace that literally amazed me. My husband and I moved her in with us temporarily while she was going through all of this so she would not be home alone. It was an adjustment for everyone, but I am so thankful for this time we have had together. I am happy to report that she is doing well, has had her surgery, and we are getting ready to start her radiation treatments. Still, she remains in good spirits and strong in her faith. I have had this card in my mind for a while, even bought the papers for it a couple of months ago, but am just now getting around to completing it. This is for my mama. She doesn't post on SCS but she is my biggest fan here and looks at all of my cards. Just know how much I love you mama, AND how very proud I am of you!

Katie, you may not have been here long, but you sure touch hearts with your work. Keeping your family in my prayers. Your mom will feel so blessed to see this gorgeous card. (((Hugs)))

Wow! What a wonderful card to dedicate to your mom! I'm sure she really loves it, I know I do! You really know how to put pieces together to create beautiful cards, Katie
