Yet another CASE from Kimber Mcgrays book, 175 Fresh Card Ideas. I used coordinating papers from Basic Grey's Cupcake line for this one. I started with a kraft cardfolded on the short side, and used my scallop border punch to edge one side of it. Then I did the same to a scrap of colorful paper, and layered it onto the card edge, lining up the scallops. I added a wide strip of the red swirly paper, and a yellow sheer ribbon between. To make the cupcake I used stencils (Dollar Tree) to trace and cut out the wrapper and icing, and lightly outlined the edges in black Sharpie to make them stand out better. I attached the wrapper to the card. Then I decided to put my greeting on a banner which I made by folding a piece of paper and cutting it into a banner shape. I stamped the greeting and folded the banner around the top of a toothpick and glued the toothpick in place. Once it was dry, I cut a small slit in the "icing" and positioned the flag, then taped it in place with foam tape, adding several more pieces to layer the icing onto the card.
This card is also for the Ways to Use It challenge, Return of Banners (WT37. TFL!
