I had labored far too long over a layout for this pretty little ribbon flower I made a couple weeks ago when I came across this challenge....
The problem I was having is that the flower is so small it made the rest of the card look plain. But not wanting to detract from the flower as my focal point, I was reluctant to add much else in the way of embellishments.
I think the negative space does a nice job of showcasing the flower. I ran around the inside of the circle with a gold leaf pen to glam it up. I put a piece of un-embossed card stock behind the flower because I didn't want the Swiss dots to show.
It took me longer to get a half-way decent photo of the card than it took me to make it!

Beautiful! You have show-cased the ribbon rose perfectly. Love the white on white and the polka-dots. The gold edging adds some extra elegance. Love that the rose and leaves are sheer ribbon - so pretty!

I SO appreciate the wonderful comments!
I found the "Ribbon Flower Tutorial" here. My flower looks much different than the example in the tute (more like a rose) because I used organza ribbon and pulled it really tight. I sewed the bead in place. For the leaves, I just folded a couple small pieces of green ribbon to a point.
