I created this card for my BIL's birthday. I think it looks masculine while at the same time I like it, too. You see, I have a small collection of owl figurines and the like. It also fits in with today's Ways To Use It Challenge - Let's Get Negative.
The card base and center strip is a medium gray textured cardstock. The ecru colored cardstock in the background and the oval framing the owl has been embossed with a wood impression plate. Both the ovals were die-cut - from the gray strip and also from a scrap of ecru cardstock. The owl was stamped and colored with Copics onto Neenah Classic Crest Natural White cardstock. I added clear glaze and white gel pen to the eyes. The negative shapes are two oval die-cuts and the leaves which were punched out and then a piece of designer paper placed behind them. I didn't have a stamp with an appropriate sentiment so I wrote it by hand onto a banner which I also matted.
Thank you for looking. I hope you like it and that it helps to inspire you to create a card.

I really like the dimension that your nested negatives and die cuts yields. Wonderful image, beautifully colored in a very effective layout. Happy Birthday to your BIL! He will love this card.
