Welcome to June! It means the start of summer (bring on the sunshine!), the end of the school year (my son graduates from high school this month!) and the Creative Crew Challenges. Here's my card for the Holiday Focus: "Manly Men – It’s time to take some inspiration from Brad Paisley and create something a man in your life. Tell us what line from the song inspired your project, now sing it Brad:
When you see a deer you see Bambi, and I see antlers up on the wall.
When you see a lake you think picnics, and I see a large mouth up under that log. You're probably thinkin' that you're gonna change me. In some ways well maybe you might. Scrub me down, dress me up, oh but no matter what remember I'm still a guy.
When you see priceless French painting, I see a drunk naked girl. You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy, and I'd like to give it a whirl. Well love makes a man do some things he ain't proud of and in weak moment I might walk your sissy dog, hold your purse at the mall but remember I'm still a guy.
I'll pour out my heart, hold your hand in the car, write a love song that makes you cry. Then turn right around and knock some jerk to the ground 'cause he copped feel as you walk by.
I can hear you now talkin' to your friends sayin', "Yeah girls he's come a long way, from draggin' his knuckles and carryin' a club and buildin' a fire in a cave." But when you say a back rub means only a back rub then you swat my hand when I try. Well now what can I say at the end of the day, “Honey, I'm still a guy."
And I'll pour out my heart, hold your hand in the car, write a love song that makes you cry. Then turn right around and knock some jerk to the ground 'cause he copped feel as you walk by.
These days there's dudes gettin' facials, manicured, waxed and botoxed. With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotiony hands you can't grip a tackle box.
Yeah, with all of these men linein' up to get neutered its hip now to be feminized. I don't highlight my hair, I've still got a pair. Yeah, honey I'm still a guy. Oh my eyebrows ain't plucked there's a gun in my truck. Oh thank god, I'm still a guy."
Phew...I decided to go with the line where he'll write you a love song, because my husband loves to write and sing me songs. Isn't he sweet?! To go with that theme, I had to use some formerly retired Newsprint dsp because it's the only thing I have in my stash that's music related. I ran it through my Big Shot with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, spritzed it with my Basic Gray marker, layered it on Real Red cs and adhered it to the Basic Black card base. I used my Big Shot, Hearts Framelits and Red Glitter Paper for the first heart and Basic Black cs and the Square Lattice Folder for the second one. It's embellished with two tiny tags (made with Very Vanilla cs, Real Red cs and the Tiny Tags stamp set) along with a Basic Black Designer Button and Linen Thread bow.
Won't you play along with us? TFL - Regina

Regina, I love how you put your DP thru the tulip folder, punched hearts, black, red and vanilla color combo and sweet little tags. All perfect...as always. Tim will LOVE it. TFS

Your husband writes and sings to you? Can I borrow him? What a great job you did on this card and it fit the song perfectly. Love the hearts, musical b/g which I'm a big fan of, and little tag. This is wonderful work Regina.
