I created this card to honor Mary as Queen for the Day. She is such a wonderful stamper and it was so fun to browse through her gallery. I chose this card to inspire me. I obviously used a different rose, but kept the same basic layout. I also changed the sentiment. For my card, I stamped the rose using a gray ink and then watercolored using my new Distress markers and a watercolor brush. I then stamped the flourishes along the edges with Versasmark ink and embossing with white powder. I then sponged on a bit more of the distress inks to pop the embossing a little bit. The sentiment is stamped using Vintage Photo ink. I added the ribbon as Mary did, but just a bow rather than a flower. The card front is mounted onto a darker pink. It really does match much better irl than it does in my photo. Isn't that disappointing?

Oh, Karen, I'm a sucker for flowers! i love this! Love the embossed flourishes, and the flower is so pretty! The coloring, sponging, sentiment are lovely, and the ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!
