I was asked to make a card as the guest designer for the CAS challenge which is a word-based inspiration this week using the word "chic." I didn't have any images that fit the bill, but the idea of a black-tie affair came to mind. I used shimmer white paper, but it didn't photograph well. I used the stripes ef for the upper part of the card and stamped the sentiment at the bottom. I punched two scallop circles and snipped petals by cutting between each scallop. I used my piercing tool to curl the edges up and used a rose button for the center. I took an 1"x11" piece of Basic Black, scored and pleated it and adhered it over the edge of the embossing then popped my flower on this piece. I adhered onto a Basic Black base and my version of a chic card was done.

How clever to go with the "Black Tie" Theme for Chic. I think your card is really beautiful with all the textures and your design. Your dimensional flower turned out beautifully too. TFS

What's chic without a little black dress? This reminds me of my husband's tuxedo shirt (minus the flower) *tehehe* I love this card and into my favorites folder it goes.
