On this card I combined this week's Wednesday Tutorial - Faux Patina with this week's Sketch Challenge. I did the Faux Patina technique not too long ago for a challenge and liked the way it looked, so I decided to try it again. Although this card is masculine looking, it is actually for my daughter. She is a freshman in college and a rower, but suffered a season ending back injury the end of January. Her team is preparing for their championship regatta and she is so sad to not be able to participate. I am sending her this card with a gift card to her favorite restaurant so she can treat herself and a friend to a nice dinner while her team is away. Her school colors are red and white, so I used red as my accent color.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope the card will bring a smile to her face. They are working on a big area in SRQ for rowers it seems... I don't know the whole story but there are always a lot of rowers out on the lake.. Love how you used the rope over the sentiment and your bg rocks...TFS

Oh my goodness, this is just fabulous - wow, I wanted to try the faux patina, but this just tips me over the edge - wonderful bg - and the image is so beautifully colored. You're such a thoughtful Mom to send a sweet gift and card. I hope she recovers quickly!
