This card is for the Featured Stamper challenge this week, Shelley Daniel (shellied), whose cards are amazing! Rather than use any single card of hers for inspiration, I used some of the common themes I noticed among her cards: the way she frames a main image so well using overlapping panels of patterned paper, and her use of a tracing wheel and ruler to create a faux-stitched border around those panels. I found her approach to designing cards around a single image really helpful, since this is one thing I continually struggle with! Once I tried her method of creating panels of patterned paper behind the main image, I kind of had an 'a-ha' moment, like "so THIS is how you do it!" So THANKYOU, Shelley, for your inspiration, and for all the wonderful cards you create!
PS: I made this card for my Mum for Mother's Day coming up; since she prefers "Mum" to "Mom" I selectively inked the stamp with a marker and nudged it with the fine tip after I stamped it to make the O look like a U. Also, I don't have a tracing wheel so I did the faux stitching with my mat pack. The ovals were sponged with blushing bride while still in the nesties, and the main image was punched from the patterned paper. I like that it shows Peter Rabbit's mum with three of her bunnies, since there are three of us in my family.

What a wonderful Mother's Day card this is! I love the idea of using Peter Rabbit's mom as the image. I have some Peter stamps and may use this idea too. Thanks!

You know I LOVE this! I am so flattered that you would look through my gallery enough to capture my style . . . which you did! And I'm a huge fan of Beatrix Potter and British children's literature. Thank you so much for your kind words and for playing!

What a sweet way to capture Shellies style. You did so well...:0).
Love how you changed it to Mum...as my mother in law is the same or close we call her Mumsy...she is like 4 foot something and so tiny. So your mum will love this especially like you say the 3 bunnies for the 3 of you..adorable...TFs...:0)
