Stef gave us another very interesting site. It is called Greenheart. I choose this dress made from recycled flour sacks. http://www.greenheartshop.org/sustai...ack-dress.html
I do remember my Grandmother doing this to make clothing. They lived through the Depression and didn't waste anything. I know she would wash it and try to get the stiffness out of the material so it was more comfortable to wear. I made my card with cream colored cardstock. Stamped the linen bg stamp with sahara sand . I stamped the flowers and leaves, and colored them with pencils. I then ran this through an embossing folder and sewed it on the card. I added ric-rac on the side. Added the sentiment, buttons, and puffy paint. tfl

Love the blue and red and that great ric rac. How come your 'puffy paint' always looks so fabulous? Funny you should mention the flour sacks. I just washed my pillowcases that I got at my Mums when we cleaned out her house. I remember them as a kid (which wasn't yesterday) and they are still going strong!

This is Beautiful, Linda!! I wouldn't use this as a towel for everyday use, it would just be for looking at!! I love how you have cut around the leaves on the edge of the wonderful embossing!!

The texture is perfect for your flour sack inspired design (my Grandma always made dish towels from the flower sacks, so I have fond recycled memories as well) ... wonderful inspired card.
