One of my favorite things about of the arrival of spring is watching the earth spring to life again and especially seeing all the vibrant colors of the spring blossoms and garden flowers. Of all the spring flowers, tulips are one of my favorites.
This card was inspired by two Tiddly Inks stamps, the charming "Charles" and the precious little dog "Kiki". They go together wonderfully with Melanie Muenchinger's elegant "A Beautiful Life" tulip frame stamp from Gina K. Designs.
Inside the frame I created a mini scene using Penny Black's lovely "Brush Tulips" stamp in combination with Stampin' Up's "Inspired By Nature" versitile grass stamp.
There are several layers to the card, created by using dimensional foam tape. The grass and tulips in the mini scene in the picture were colored with Stampin' Up waterbase markers applied directly to the the stamp. After stamping, they are colored with Versamarker and clear heat embossed. Stampin' Up Always Artichoke Ink was sponged at their base. Using a punched scalloped circle as a mask, the clouds were sponged in a variety of blue inks, adding more dimension to the scene
The tulip frame, Charles, and Kiki are colored with Copic markers.
