This card is for two challenges - one is the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge #102, which is to use your favorite ODBD stampset, the other is this week's QFTD challenge in honor of our new Queen Sylvia aka Sillyfilly.
For the ODBD challeng - first, I've never participated in a challenge outside of SCS, so this is new for me. I see so many gorgeous creations for the ODBD challenges by many of my favorite SCSer's, including Pat Smethers and others, but have never joined in. So yesterday I visited the blog and found out what it the challenges are all about. Lucky for me because I have a super-favorite set and couldn't wait to pull it out!! Here's a link to the ODBD SLC102 Challenge page: {ODBD Shining the Light Challenge}
This precious little chicadee is one of my favorite birds, and the matching die makes this little guy pop. This card is for my Mom, and I hope it brings her hope and comfort.
This card is also to honor our new Queen - Sylvia aka Sillyfilly. I so enjoyed my visit through your gallery Sylvia - and I was so impressed by your fabulous circle easle cards that I decided to go with a circle card in honor of you. I see that you also like Doilies, so I've incorporated one of those on my card as well. Note that I've never tried an easle card - I need some one-on-one training for that I think LOL...
This card was inspired by many in Sylvia's gallery - but it was this one that first gave me the idea: {Teal Angel}
Thanks everyone for looking.

Ooooh twinzi, you've gone and made a BEAUTIFUL card with the gorgeous feather flower we bought together at Hobby Lobby. And, look at you, a sentiment to match the flower. You always have such clever additions to your cards and bring themes together so well with charms, sentiments, etc. I just LOVE THIS ONE! Your bird is adorable and your use of the diecuts incredible. Oh, twinzi, you are so talented and I am in awe of your beautiful work! Huuuuuggggggzzzz! I'm working on a card with copics/flower vase. Wish me luck!

This is gorgeous. I love all the textures. Your coloring on the bird is amazing. I like how you used the feathers on that pretty flower. I'm not sure if that is embossing or stickles on the circle but whatever it is looks lovely. Thank you so much for making this beautiful card. I am honored.

Absolutely beautiful!!! I just had to come see your creation using the CLD Sophia's Heart after you left the comment that you had used it today too. It is amazing how dies can look completely different and I VERY much like what you did with it to have it show as a border.... I'm making a mental note and I'll give it a try soon. Have a good week!
