It's been several weeks since I've uploaded a card. The reason? I've been working diligently on creating baby shower invitations for our sweet daughter-in-law and ... (drum roll please) our little grandson!
I used a template from Ashley Newell's Couples Shower. I did make a few changes. Instead of embossing the entire front of the invitation with the small dots, I embossed the lower half with the new SU (Sizzix) strips EB folder. I think it gives more interest. I kept the inside top strip the same except for the stamped information of course. Our daughter-law wanted to keep the invitations simple and tailored. Instead of the directions in the lower inside pocket I created a little envelope w/heart closure that holds the RSVP and her baby registries. I repeated the dotted EB here.
Her nursery colors are Robin's Egg Blue, Yellow, Red, and Chocolate Brown. I had a time trying to find the right yellow. A big shout out to Mary Fish from SU and Nicki from Clear and Simple Stamps for all their help. I had a deadline for the draft and they got the product to me in no time flat - thanks so much ladies. The back of the invitation is a stamp from the Clear and Simple Stamp line called, Sweet Dreams. Isn't this precious. It reminds me of the book, "Goodnight Moon." I stamped all 50 invitations and hand colored them with Prisma Color pencil with just a touch of glitter on the stars.
So...today's the day. All 50 invitations are going in the overnight to Charleston, SC to be addressed and sent out - whew! I made it.
I will be writing a blog piece once I'm given the go ahead from my daughter-in-laws mother. We want to surprise her with these invitations (she hasn't seen them). I wish I knew how to stitch all the photo's together in one photo but I don't know how yet (gona get my photographer son to show me). So I'm going to upload the rest of the invitation separately.
Thanks so much everyone for taking a peek today. Your comments are always appreciated.
BTW: Got my Intermediate Copic certification this past Saturday. I had the amazing Marianne Walker as my instructor!

Susie, your baby shower invitations turned out beautifully. TFS the inside and the cute back of your invitation too. Congratulations on soon becoming a grandma :-)
