I haven't made a guy card for a long time, so I decided to browse through today's IC Website, Graham & Green, to look for some inspiration. I came across this photo of a steel soap dispenser http://www.grahamandgreen.co.uk/slate-soap-dispenser, with part of a sturdy faucet in the bg. What could be more masculine than a slate stainless steel soap dispenser? : )
Well, the shiny finish made me think of chrome on a motorcycle, which led to this card. Instead of using dp, I cut up an old pair of jeans, frayed three of the four edges, then sponged with Distressed Inks - it seemed appropriate to use Faded Denim ink for this project. Look at the beautiful fraying on the right edgeÂ… well, that is the wear and tear through time. I couldn't get the other three edges to fray the same way. The stitching was a challenge for me, but I think it turned out OK.
