Since I have been digging into 'old' stuff that I did when I started I got thinking how simple our designs and embellishments were. Don't get me wrong..I love all the die-cuts, flower punches and fancy folders but I wanted to get back to the basics. The folders I used were some of the first I ever purchased as is the lattice die. The centre oval I am not certain about but the outside oval I had to cut out myself since the ovals didn't come any large. The watercolour technique was one of the first I ever learned and this piece is from that session...do you think I keep things a little too long? LOL This was a great sketch to-day since it also reminded of 'back to basics'.

Very pretty card. You are so right, sometimes we take the fun out of this craft with so many tools. It's nice to take the scissors and do a little cutting. I love the watercolor technique. It's so soft and muted. tfs

I know what you mean about going back to basics and revisiting old techniques and supplies. This is lovely..your image has a very soft edge to it and a dreamlike quality. It goes great with the 2 different colors of purple bg.
