It is my turn to host the sketch challenge this week! I drew a sketch that can be left very CAS, or can be jazzed up a bit. I chose to make it not CAS, and used some pretty papers as the backdrop for may card.
I started by sponging the inner edges of my die cut circle, then I stamped the Friendship Script in gray ink (without taking the circle out of the die template). Then I stamped the flower image from Flowers in Bloom and colored it. On a separate piece of card stock I stamped just the butterfly, colored an fussy cut it, and then adhered it just by its body (popping the wings up a bit). Each green patterned paper panel is hand stitched on; I also stitched down the left side of the pink paper. To finish it off I added three small half pearls.
I'm also hosting the Hump Day Challenge in the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps member company forums. This week, the challenge is to add some stitching to your card (real or faux, using the machine or hand stitching). I hope you get the chance to come play along with one or both challenges!
