IÂ’m still working on my ABC album from last fallÂ’s VSBN. This was for the P challenge (actually O & P). We had to: 1) Choose one new to you technique; 2) Be inspired by a favorite sketch; 3) Embellishments in clusters of three.
I had a lot of pics I wanted to use, so I made a dps for the letter “P.” For my new technique, I tried the “kissing” technique for my letter P. I inked a letter stamp and a background stamp, kissed (pressed) them together, then inked the edge of the letter stamp and stamped it on white cardstock. I cut the letter out so I could add it to my square with the other computer-generated words. For my row of 3, I used 3 square brads on each page. Love those brads but have been hoarding them for several years!!
I based my pages on the card sketch below. It would have been easier to use a scrapbook sketch, but for some reason I read it wrong and thought we had to use a card sketch. (O.K., Teach, I know, slow down & read carefully!):
Journaling: “My nieces, Alix & Cade, both loved driving to Payson with us when they visited. And one year, Bob’s grandkids, Kelly and Justin, came for a visit & we took them up there too. Rob & Kim’s dog, Jake, was staying with us at the time, so we had four people & three dogs in the car.
On each trip, we’d rent a boat, stopping along the shore in different places, getting out to climb on the rocks & venture into the woods a bit. The dogs ran & explored, taking in the sights & sounds of nature. We’d have a picnic, then head home later in the day. Glorious!”

Well, Wendy, I think the sketch you used was perfect for this size scrap page. I really like the stripes and colors you used, and how the mats match and the brads, too. I see you used metal. You look like you are really into the paper scrapping, even trying that stamping technique! I am impressed, So glad you are going on with your ABC album.

I am all about dps!! Love this! I like the block pictures to go with the square brads...that's something I don't have! I'll have to be on the look out for square brads now. I like the colors and stripes. Would love to see the other alpha pages!

I really like the layout of these 2 pages and the color combo. Nice clean look...like those brads and the way the pics are matted. Good job on the "kissing" technique.
