I'm back on a kick of making my own background paper, so I knew this rug was perfect as an inspiration this card. It's created by using white embossing powder on Island Indigo paper. The pansy image is colored using Copics. The teacup is plain, but after studying some pictures of teacups, I decided to add a little interest and focal point to mine with the turquoise rims and flowers in the center. More heat embossing with the birthday border across the bottom of the card.

Wow! Love your homemade background paper. Never would have known it wasn't purchased if I hadn't read your description. So pretty. Red and turquoise gets me every time and you've thrown in some touches of brown, which I LOVE!

What a lovely card. Had you not mentioned it, I would have thought your bg paper had been purchased. I'm sure it is even prettier IRL with the sheen of the EP. Your teacup filled with pansies is beautifuolly colored as well.

Beautiful! Love how you colored the image. Also like your homemade BG paper and the brown strip behind the image really draws the eye to the focal image.
