Finally got around to making this. I should have used the stamp-a-ma-jig on the monogram but I was so excited with how the strap turned out I couldn't find the patience! I can't wait to make it with all different straps [turquoise, patterned, etc.] and "embroidered" critters in place of the monogramming just like those catalogs offer! It is a card that the handles open. Would make a great beach party invite. Maybe with a beach ball that falls out of it??? :0) OOoo! I should change the card pattern into a pouch pattern and fill it with stuff! I gotta go do that!

this is just too cute! I have to confess that when first looking at it, I thought it really WAS a canvas boat tote!!! And wondered how you managed to get that canvas pattern all lined up so perfectly! This is an adorable idea, thanks for sharing it...was it hard to do? Just from the looks, it seems like it would be pretty easy. How long is the strip of red cardstock for the handle/strap?
