There was some wonderful inspiration today. I was very taken with all the blue and white strips, but THIS was my primary inspiration. Once I had the Eiffel Tower I needed to factor in some stripes. With memories of DH skating on the first level of the Eiffel Tower (I don't have a good head for heights these days, and was too queasy to do anything except cling to the railings) I took out skating Flopsey. Originally I'd been going to go for something more chic and elegant, with memories of an exhibition we went to there a couple of years back about how the navy and naval life influenced fashion.
A2 navy base, card sponged with Barn Door for mat layer.
En Francais stamped with StazOn Stone Grey, Eiffel Tower with Versafine Black, and then liberally misted with Glimmer Mist for a deliberately blotchy effect. I sponged the edges with Tea Dye.
Flopsey stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with distress inks, Flower Soft for his tail.
I really liked the way many of the inspiration photos incorporated newsprint, so I used a book page for my ice and border. The pond has two layers of UTEE and a third layer of Iridescent Ice. Scalloped border is to represent the Seine and is sponged with Tumbled Glass.
Sentiment stamped on watercolour paper and sponged. I added a snowflake punched from glitter paper with a tiny red button and some twine.

Sabrina, this is so wonderful - I can't believe how you captured so many elements of your inspiration photo collage on your card - very cute in an elegant way if that makes sense! And hey, I'd be queasily clinging to the railings right along with you, I want my ice solidly on ground level!

What a wonderful combination of papers and stamps, Sabrina! I love the images, and the use of the newsprint!!
