I have another card I really want to make, my first choice, but when I saw this Abundant Nature wall art it reminded me of a friend of DH's from Chicago who has visited Haiti several times. We had a lovely visit from her a few years back - so thinking of her I made this card.
I started with a 5 3/4" square base, but I trimmed about an inch off one edge.
Image is from Serendipity Stamps. I stamped it on watercolour paper with Versafine Sepia and coloured with distress inks. I masked it, and for Thursday's stencil challenge I used the negative from a circle punch and from a leaf die to sponge the background in, with more masking. I distressed the edges and then painted the sunflower image with Glossy Accents and a fine brush, to lift it from the background and add some texture. I sprinkled a little bit of copper glitter in the centre.
Tied some twine around, and then added a Maya Road chipboard bird painted with gesso and then sponged with brown ink. Image panel layered on blue Bazill.

I loved your inspiration piece, but couldn't come up with a thought of how to use it myself. I love where your inspiration took you with the beautiful sponged bg and pretty flower and bird in the foreground.

I totally love the bg you created, Sabrina, with the rich, warm colors - I'd love to try this sometime - your card is like a ray of sunshine, it's beautiful!
