This week at the Teaparty we are celebrating a 12-yr old's birthday with Harry Potter-themed cards. This was a challenge but I'm really pleased with how this turned out (and I was so anxious to see how it turned out that I was working on it until 12:30 am!) Here's the link if you want to check it out and send Hunter a birthday card: MMTPT174 ~ WE CANNOT FIND HIS GLASSES! SEND WORD TO THE MASSES! by Mothermark at Splitcoaststampers
First of all, thank you Bugaboo Digital Stamps for the fabulous images! I was a bit concerned when I first got Cindy's email about Harry Potter! After doing an internet search I came across references to Bugaboo and here we go!
I printed and sized my Harry, owl (Hedwig) and broom images then I cropped and enlarged just the glasses from the Harry image to create the large glasses. I found the scroll and had dowloaded a 'Harry Potter' font and I typed the sentiment onto the scroll and printed.
I cut the centres out of the glasses and edged the insides with black distress ink to hide my cutting.
Coloured my Harry image and Hedwig and broom. Carefully cut everything so it would fit properly in the 'glasses'. Used lots of Walnut Stain distress ink around the Harry and owl images, around the glasses and the broom to hide the finicky cutting and also around the scroll. I was really going for an aged kind-of look (it looks better irl!)
Attached the dp layer, very carefully attached Harry and the owl to the back of my glasses piece. Popped up the broom and the scroll. Added Glossy Accents to Harry's actual glasses and some stickles on the owl.
This was a super fun card to make. tfl Thanks to Cindy and cookiebaker (Charlene) for letting us help Hunter celebrate his birthday!

Love all your attention to detail... it really shows in the finished product! The monochromatic tones are perfect with your Harry Potter images, and the scroll is the icing on Hunter's birthday cake! Very nicely done!
