The idea for the seahorse came from a Creative Keepsakes (Scrapbook Tips & Techniques) book.
This is just a prototype, as that seahorse needs to be completely redone! I'll be honest, I went about it all wrong. Hints- use very heavy card stock or adhere several layers together; pierce a smaller amount of holes; DO NOT leave the sponging until after you're done threading the ribbon! Really, I should've started off with a colored base similar to the color of ribbon I was going to use. Instead, I hand drew the sea horse on white card stock and pierced way too many holes, causing the card stock to tear when I was trying to thread the ribbon through it. Seeing all the white made me a bit nervous, so with a Qtip I sponged teal ink to cover as much as I could of the blank spaces showing. It's ok. Experience gained! Lessons learned! I'll keep the card and just replace the seahorse once I make a new and improved one
