This anniversary card is for the SCS Inspiration Challenge today, posted by SmilynStef. I am using Central Park as my inspiration. I do have a little bit of red, too, but I hope that's not a problem for the challenge.
I used Debbie Olson's idea of using this image for a card for her husband and also her sentiment since I could find nothing else that seemed to fit the image for this occasion - a card for my husband on our anniversary.
The cream, blue and tan cardstock were cut with Spellbinders Classic Square dies and the cream square was embossed. The socks were paper-pieced with scraps. The quilted background and shading on and around the socks were colored with Copics. I put a bit of atyou Spica on the flowered sock for just a bit of sparkle
I stamped the sentiment using JustRite's Trompe Script Font with both upper and lower cases. I handcut the sentiment into a banner shape and then cut the blue mat banner an 1/8" larger.
Thank you so much for stopping to look! I hope my card helps to inspire you to try the challenge.
