I'm really liking the non traditional colors for Christmas! So here I go again...
This week's Shining the Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs is to use bells, baubles or anything hanging on your creation! I cut some cute tassels off of some ribbon trim and wrapped those around the ornament on my card!
The base is 6 x 12 card stock folded to make a 6 x 6 card. I cut a slightly smaller layer of designer paper (Bo Bunny - Enchanted) and distressed the edges with distress ink (black soot) and a distressing tool before adhering. The first layer consists of a Zva pearl flourish. I then layered on a few doily dies (Cheery Lynn Designs English Tea - black card stock and French Pastry - white). I cut a circle with coordinating DP (the polka dot layer) and adhered in in the middle of the two doily layers. I cut a piece of dp, hand cutting the bottom to make it look like a sash and a coordinating black cs mat. A simple matted rectangular mat finished the look using a sentiment from ODBD's Blessed Christmas set. The ornament is from Spellbinders Holiday Ornaments 2011 edition. After cutting I embossed it with a Victorian feel embossing folder. The baubles were simply cut from some ribbon trim and wrapped around the neck of the ornament and taped down before placing on the card. The final touch is a big satin bow, hand tied, from my ribbon stash.
