Well, I didn't win the Scrap Box, but I got to participate in a great cause, and I got to "meet" and hang out with a bunch of fine ladies on the HYCCT chatter thread. In honor of Queen Lydia who worked so hard throughout the past 2 months making HYCCT all pull together, a bunch of us are thanking her by participating in today's challenge which she is hosting.
I had a card similar to this floating in my head after seeing a piece of my son's college mail (you know you're a stamper when the most ordinary things inspire you to make a card!) It had strips of color with a doodle swirling over and around them. I cut 1/2" strips of the various colors and glued them onto a piece of Whisper White cs and then cut those into 1/2" strips. I glued these onto my card base then stamped the Baroque flourish over them. I used a marker to fill in a few blank spaces then ran the card front through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder for some extra pixillation! I had these cool sequin flowers that I picked up post-Halloween at 80% off and liked the way they looked against the colors. The gold piece behind the greeting is from a piece I'd made with gold paper glued to cereal box cardboard and embossed in the Houndstooth ef.
So, this is pixillated for you Lydia with multiplied thanks for all the hard work you put into the HYCCT challenge and for all the fun you brought along with it!
